Foreign Exchange and Money Markets (FXMM) Certified

Woohoo! I wish...

So now, I'm trying to study for this certification offered by Thomson Reuters Manila about the different asset classes available in the market. To name others, we also have equities, fixed income and commodities and energy.

I really feel excited about learning new stuffs about the global markets, which make the world go round, so here I am trying my best to cope. There is so much more to learn, so much more to experience. Even if I graduated with "Financial" on my course title, I feel like I've not learned enough and realized that I should've paid better attention to the lecture provided by my Financial Markets college instructor (hi ma'am Panga!).

Also, another thing to be eager about taking the certification exams is the reward! Aside from the bragging rights, and a possible Exceeded mark on my year-end assessment, I also get to receive various amounts of Sodexo gift certificates. Hurray! I learned and earned at the same time. How can things be better than that?

Alright, before I get lost from the track, I will now resume studying for the first level certification of FXMM. Wish me luck! :)

Random Thoughts series

Sometimes, I still can't believe I am where I am right now.

I mean, hello, promdi, in the City of Makati? (Almost) Every poor promdi's dream. But actually, not mine. Before, I really would like to work in Cebu or Davao or anywhere else here in the Philippines as long as it's not Manila. But then, I don't know, destiny (naks!) brought me here.

Now, I live on my own, and work and earn for myself and can afford my mini luxuries. I have no siblings, so no responsibility to the family. My parents are both professionals and  we have a small business at home, so now, money is really not an issue anymore.

Right now, I just feel so blessed to have really great parents who support me with the things I want to pursue; who let me spread my wings and let me fall and learn, but have never failed me. I am grateful for my understanding, and really loving parents. 'Yo the real MVP! :D

This post just really makes me more homesick, but I want to let the world know how great it is to be the daughter of my parents. I wish that if the time comes  that I will have to raise my own child/ren, I would be like my parents, who tried their best to raise me well, who's been through poorer and poorest, and who are really good providers.

I owe them everything I have and everything I am enjoying now. Thank you, Ma and Pa! I love you to the moon and back! <3

Cebu-Bohol First-timer Jitters

Everything's all set; except for me.

Two weeks before our trip to Cebu, my leave of absence is not yet approved (I requested for it 3 months ago!). I was already in a state of panic when my boss and I was about to start our coaching session and he asked me if my leaves were already approved. He already knew the answer but he still have to ask? Rude! Hahaha Anyway, he told me there is no way for my two days leave to be approved since already a member of the team will also be out during those dates. That person is actually one of the persons I'll go to Cebu with. So, tough luck, my friend. Only one person from the team can be allowed to go on VL a day. I cried (yep, you read it right!) during our meeting. I felt like all my dreams and hopes were shattered. hahaha Kidding aside, I really felt sad because I was the one who booked the tickets and planned the trip. I even invited one of my childhood friends and his boyfriend to come. I'm screwed.

Good thing, my office friend (the same person I'm with to Cebu), Gem, suggested that I take one of her VL's and we'll take one emergency leave each, which my boss also approved of, so, hurray! :D The sad thing is, I will be with two couples while I'll be on my own, their tour guide. My boyfriend won't be able to make it due to school and we lack budget. :'( But it's okay, we still have another Boracay trip on December and he already promised he'll make it by that time.

Now, with only a week left before our trip, I'm uber excited! I really can't wait to explore the city, the food and meet locals. I know it will still be fun!

I will be posting our itinerary and actual expenses after the trip. The trip will be on July 11-14, 2015. I hope I can be of help by then to other DIY adventurers out there. :) Here's a sneak peek:

Until after Cebu, ciao!
